Overview
QR codes are scannable images that redirect people to a URL. In CrownThrive IO you can create static QR codes (fixed destination) or dynamic QR codes that you can update after printing.
Create a QR Code
- In the sidebar, select QR codes and click Create QR.
- Enter a name for your QR and select the destination type: choose a biolink page, short link, file link, event link, static site or any external URL.
- Choose whether the QR is dynamic (allows you to change the destination later) or static (permanent destination).
- Customize the design: pick a shape, add your brand colours, insert a logo or icon, and set the size. Keep high contrast for readability.
- Save the QR code. You can download it as PNG or SVG and place it on packaging, flyers or screens.
Edit or Update a Dynamic QR
Dynamic QR codes can be repointed to a new destination without changing the printed image.
- From the QR codes list, click the edit icon next to a dynamic code.
- Change the destination link to another CrownThrive asset or external URL.
- Click Update QR code. The code image remains the same, but it will now redirect to the new destination.
Best Practices
- Test your QR code on multiple devices before printing large runs.
- Keep colours simple: use dark foreground and light background; avoid low contrast combinations.
- If you include a logo, ensure it doesn’t cover more than 30% of the QR area.
- Monitor scan analytics from the QR codes list to see how often and where your codes are scanned.
