Creating QR Codes

Overview

QR codes are scannable images that redirect people to a URL. In CrownThrive IO you can create static QR codes (fixed destination) or dynamic QR codes that you can update after printing.

Create a QR Code

  1. In the sidebar, select QR codes and click Create QR.
  2. Enter a name for your QR and select the destination type: choose a biolink page, short link, file link, event link, static site or any external URL.
  3. Choose whether the QR is dynamic (allows you to change the destination later) or static (permanent destination).
  4. Customize the design: pick a shape, add your brand colours, insert a logo or icon, and set the size. Keep high contrast for readability.
  5. Save the QR code. You can download it as PNG or SVG and place it on packaging, flyers or screens.

Edit or Update a Dynamic QR

Dynamic QR codes can be repointed to a new destination without changing the printed image.

  1. From the QR codes list, click the edit icon next to a dynamic code.
  2. Change the destination link to another CrownThrive asset or external URL.
  3. Click Update QR code. The code image remains the same, but it will now redirect to the new destination.

Best Practices

  • Test your QR code on multiple devices before printing large runs.
  • Keep colours simple: use dark foreground and light background; avoid low contrast combinations.
  • If you include a logo, ensure it doesn’t cover more than 30% of the QR area.
  • Monitor scan analytics from the QR codes list to see how often and where your codes are scanned.
