Smooth communication is the foundation of ThriveGather events. If members can’t hear or be heard, engagement drops. Thankfully, most AV problems can be solved with simple steps.

2. Common Problems & Fixes

a) No Audio (You Can’t Hear Others)

  • Check device volume and mute toggle.
  • Confirm speakers/headphones are selected in browser settings.
  • Restart your browser and rejoin the event.
  • If using Bluetooth, ensure device is paired and active.

b) No Microphone (Others Can’t Hear You)

  • Grant microphone permissions when prompted by your browser.
  • In Chrome/Edge/Firefox: click the lock icon in the address bar → allow microphone.
  • Select the correct microphone in room settings.
  • If using an external mic, unplug/replug and rejoin.

c) No Camera (Video Not Showing)

  • Grant camera permissions when prompted.
  • Check if another application (Zoom, Teams) is already using your camera.
  • In room settings, toggle between available cameras.
  • Refresh the page and rejoin.

d) Choppy or Delayed Audio/Video

  • Close unnecessary browser tabs or apps using bandwidth.
  • Switch from Wi-Fi to wired connection if possible.
  • Ask others in your household to pause streaming during your session.
  • Reduce video quality in room settings.

  • ThriveGather works best in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  • Safari and Firefox are supported but may have limited features.
  • Mobile users: ensure you’re on the latest OS and browser version.
  • Always update browser before joining major events.

  • Clear browser cache if persistent issues occur.
  • Disable VPNs, firewalls, or ad-blockers that may interfere.
  • Restart your device if all else fails.
